The GeoService VegetationVitality - Monitoring utilizes scientifically validated and industry accepted multispectral vegetation indices to deliver fundamental information on the overall state of vegetation. These indices utilize physically-based mathematical formulas to transform multispectral remote sensing imagery into maps depicting measurable vegetation conditions such as quantifiable biomass, overall vigor, productivity or yield, and stress.

Output includes a convenient Summary Analytics Report in PDF format for immediate access to information about your study area.

The GeoService VegetationVitality - Monitoring provides a time series of maps over your area of interest. Each suitable Landsat 8 or Sentinel-2 data set acquired within a certain time period will be analysed.

Different vegetation indices are more responsive to different vegetation types and environmental conditions so VegetationVitality offers multiple execution options to meet a variety of project needs.

Recommended use 

VegetationVitality enables users across myriad domains to quickly produce value-added vegetation products and reports applicable to many different fields and industries, including agriculture, forestry, climate change analytics, logging, recreation planning, etc.

Output files are generated in standard GeoTIFF, Shapefile and PDF formats, allowing for immediate visual interpretation and direct incorporation into reports and presentations, as well as ingestion into other geospatial data and image analysis software packages. The output products include a Summary Analytics Report (see Downloads section for sample report), a color-coded map of vegetation index values as well as a color-coded map of discretized vegetation values in five classes. You will also be provided a shapefile of discretized vegetation index values in five classes, a greyscale map of raw vegetation index values (scaled x1000) and a true color map of the input image.
